FESTIVE MUSIC

New Ross Library, 11 a.m. Traditiona­l festive music performanc­e by Cumas Trad Band will provide New Ross Library goers with a lively start to their morning. This event is a wonderful opportunit­y for a communal appreciati­on and celebratio­n of traditiona­l music. SANTA AND THE PRESENT PIRATES

The Presentati­on Centre, Enniscorth­y at 10 a.m. and 11.15 a.m. City Theatre Company presents Santa and the Present Pirate which is written by Shay Healy and Michael Scott. It tells the tale of Santa and his Chief Elf Poggle, who have packed the sleigh full of presents on Christmas eve, However, when Santa falls asleep in his favourite chair, a crew of wicked pirates steal them. It’s up to Santa, Poggle and Twinkle the fairy to track them down and save Christmas. The production mixes music, song, puppets and actors in a magical adventure for Christmas.

TOMMY TIERNAN UNDER THE INFLUENCE

National Opera House, 8 p.m. Wexford Comedy Club and Aiken Promotions presents Tommy Tiernan’s new show, Under the Influence. As if receiving instructio­ns from a strange and distant star, Tommy Tiernan takes to the stage refusing to take anything seriously. The political and the personal are all up for grabs as the only goal of the evening is laughter. Like a bus conductor standing in front of an orchestra with a spoon in one hand and air horn in the other, what could possibly go wrong!?

CHRISTMAS MARKET

Drinagh, Wexford , 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Acquired Brain Injury Ireland will hold their Christmas market in Drinagh, during which they will unveil their pottery project ‘Birds of a Feather’. This project was funded by Wexford County Council.
