PARISH DRAW

The recent annual Parish Draw was a fantastic success with €7,190 being raised by the venture. Fr Dan Cavanagh and the Finance Committee wish to thank all for their generosity and loyalty to the parish in raising funds to service the needs which have arisen in recent times. This latest boost of the draw success will help to offset some of the debt arising from renovations top the three churches and the extension to the cemetery in Rosbercon. THE FESTIVE RUN

All roads lead to the Pink Rock on St Stephen’s Day for the annual 5km Festive Fun Run/Walk organised by the St Joseph’s Athletic Club. It will start at midday and young and old are invited to come along and join in where there should be a brilliant atmosphere as well as getting in a little post-Christmas Day exercise. Fancy dress is optional and there will be prizes for best adult and children’s costume. Lots of refreshments will be served afterwards so why not come along and enjoy the fun with something for the young and not so young. GIVING TREE

The Giving Tree as in previous years is now in situ in the Church of the Assumption Rosbercon. There are tags with requests from patients in the local hospitals for little gifts. Parishioners are asked to take a tag from the tree and return it with the gift requested on or before December 31. There will be presentation of gifts to the patients of the hospitals in New Ross in early January. The Giving Tree is a lovely idea and the little gifts donated are much appreciated by the recipients of same. BEREAVED

Sincere sympathy goes to Mrs Ann Joyce of Annfield Lane on the recent death of her sister Catherine Gannon from Ballyraggett who was buried there on Sunday last. Also to Mrs Kathleen Walsh from Garranbehy whose mother Kathleen Rice from the Irishtown New Ross died on Saturday. She will be laid to rest in St Stephen’ Cemetery today (Tuesday the 20th). LAST CHANCE

You have the last chance to pick a few extra Euro’s for Christmas this Wednesday at the Parish Bingo. The lotto jackpot which stands at €325 is also up for grabs. The bingo session starts at 8.30 sharp and here there is a €1,200 prize fund. CHRISTMAS GREETINGS
