APEX STAFF REUNITE LOST RING WITH OWNER
near New York city. When the couple, who were over visiting family over Christmas, returned home he noticed the ring was missing and Sinead contacted her sister Niamh, a former Green party councillor chairperson of New Ross Town Council, who, in turn, contacted Martina Traynor in the Apex, about locating the ring.
The ring had special significance for Mr Loebs, who is a consultant for pool design, and his wife, as it features a special engraving. ‘ The latitude and longitude numbers on the inside of the bands are for Hook Head lighthouse on the outside and Cedar Point lighthouse (a local favorite spot for us here in Sag Harbor, on eastern Long Island).’
Even though the pool was closed Martina and staff members went to the centre and found the ring, which arrived on Monday. Sinead, who runs a Physiotherapy business, said: ‘Many, many thanks to Martina Traynor and her incredible staff at the Apex in New Ross. My husband left his wedding ring on a locker key (007) during our trip home to Ross, and left without it. Yikes. A panicked call to my sister Niamh got the attention of Martina, and during their time off over the new year, when the Apex was closed, the staff went in to check the building, ensured us that his ring was indeed there, and was safe and sound. They went above and beyond the call of duty to make certain that the ring and owner would be reunited. And that he would have to try harder next time to get out of our marriage,’ she joked. ‘Such professionals, and such a great community. Great people, great deeds, great outcome,’ Sinead wrote on Facebook. THE name Alan Rossiter of 27 Barrow Heights, New Ross was called in the District Court sitting in Wexford.
Proceedings arose after Garda Deirdre Callinan noted a vehicle parked in a disabled bay on South Street on November 19, 2015.
No appropriate pass was exhibited and Rossiter was convicted with a fine of €200 for the offence. A MAN found highly intoxicated in a New Ross housing estate was fined €120 for his antics.
The District Court heard that Michael Connors (30) of 33 Harvey Place in New Ross was drunk and fighting another man when gardaí arrived at Assumption Terrace in the early hours of June 5.
He was prosecuted after he refused to stop in response to a request from Garda Michelle Power.
