This week’s lotto jackpot stands at €20,000, and the reserve jackpot at €19,050. The numbers drawn were 1, 7, 27 and 32, and there was no winner. Consolatio­n winners of €30 each were Marian Ryan, Joe Galavan, John Ryan Coolroe, Derek Butler and Brian Bolger. Tickets are on sale in local businesses and from committee members.

LOCAL TEXT ALERT

The Text Alert Committee have been working very closely with An Garda Síochána and are very happy with the interactio­n and progress that has been made in recent months. Chair. of the committee Peter Chap Cleere has informed us that the annual nembership subscripti­ons will be due for renewal in April. Committee members will be contacting existing members in the coming months. Members of the public who see or witness any suspicious activity in your area are advised to contact Thomastown Garda station at 056 – 7754150.

LIBRARY NEWS

The winners of the book tokens for the 12 books of Christmas were Lucy Foley, Imogen and Ingrid Tierney and the Bolger family and the overall winner of the Galaxy Samsung tablet was Karen Walsh well done to all.

Thank you to everyone involved in the ‘ One book, One community’ launch on January 12. There was a great attendance on the day. The winners of the art competitio­n chosen by Nicola Pierce were Caoimhe Moran, Adam Walsh and Ana Malinero.

Rojas Art Group – Starting this Thursday, January 19, the group will meet in Graiguenam­anagh Library every Thursday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. All adults and all levels welcome – just bring along your paints, share your knowledge and get going.

Age Action Computer Classes - Confused by computers? Wary of the web? These classes are now under way in Graiguenam­anagh Library on Tuesday mornings. If you are interested please contact the library at 056 7794178 and we will put your name on the list for the next set of classes which will start in February.

Parent and Toddler – this group meet in the library every Thursday morning from 11 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. all welcome.
