Musician Brendan releases charity single Perfect Day

-

WEXFORD singer-songwriter Brendan Keane has released a new single and is donating proceeds from downloads to a voluntary cancer support organisation. The New Ross based musician was invited to launch the song, ‘Perfect Day’, at a recent gig in the Liberty Hall Theatre in Dublin organised especially for the charity he is supporting, the Caroline Foundation. The song, which is now available to download from iTunes, was produced by Keane and recorded, engineered and mixed by Wexford music stalwart Mick Egan. It features Dave Duffy, on drums, and Martin Crosbie on lead guitar, while Keane himself performed the rhythm and bass guitar parts along with the vocals. The release is taken from his forthcoming debut solo album, ‘Dreaming in Parallel’ which is due out this summer.

While he has played on numerous albums by other artists he’s never released anything himself and that is something he plans to put right this year with two original albums in the pipeline.

Keane has opened, in a solo acoustic capacity, for some of Ireland, and the world’s, biggest acts including Rod Stewart, the Christians, multiple Grammy-winner, Albert Lee, Mundy, Jack L, Juliet Turner, Declan O’Rourke, Nina Hynes, Ezio, Don Baker and Mary Black to name but a few.

He has also toured with Squeeze founder members, Glenn Tilbrook and Chris Difford, and British rock giants, Status Quo – who also invited him to London to open for them before Christmas.

In addition to the two albums his songs are also set to be included on the soundtrack to a documentary detailing the story of coffee which is due to hit the screens shortly.
