LENTEN CONFESSIONS

Fr Dan Cavanagh will hear Confessions for Lent in the month of March. They will commence after the weekend Masses beginning this Saturday and Sunday, March 18/19.

THANK YOU

Many thanks go to all who so generously contributed to the recent annual Ossory Diocesan Appeal for help. A total of €350 was collected for which the organisers are extremely grateful.

PARISH NEWS

We welcome new families to our Parish Community and Parish Schools. New families and householders who have been resident in the parish for some time are invited to let Fr Dan Cavanagh know that they are now part of our community. There will be meeting of the Parish Finance Committee on next Monday evening, March 20. The venue is the Parochial House and the time is 8 p.m.

The St Mary’s Cathedral Kilkenny Restoration Fund draw continues for a third year and more details of this fundraiser will be announced later.

WOUNDED CATS

They say a wounded cat is a dangerous animal as we witnessed in Semple Stadium Thurles last Saturday night. The Kilkenny hurlers after their humiliating defeat by Clare bounced back with a vengeance and in an absolute thriller of a game shared the spoils with Tipperary 3-14 to 2-17. Our own clubman, the towering Walter Walsh had another great game curbing the influence of Pádraig Maher and shooting three superb points as well. Next up Dublin with vital points at stake we can expect another humdinger of a game.

CHARITY TABLE QUIZ

The Charity table quiz goes ahead in Paddy Ryan’s of Listerlin tonight (Tuesday the 14th) at 8.30 p.m. Tables of four cost a mere €20 and there will be a raffle as well. All proceeds go to the Community Hospital New Ross and your kind support would be much appreciated.
