Cloughbawn GAA and soccer clubs score big with crowd

-

THE village of Clonroche was a riot of noise and colour for this year’s St Patrick’s Day parade.

A crowd gathered in Clonroche in the early afternoon and even though the number of floats was down this year, a great cross section of the local business and sporting community turned out to celebrate the special day.

Leo Tector’s float was the talk of the crowd as he brought none other than the President of the United States of America Donal Trump to south west Wexford complete with his wall.

Driven through the town on a trailer behind a vintage tractor, the ‘President’ drew plenty of laughter, as he does in real life.

Members of Cloughbawn GAA and soccer clubs brought plenty of energy to proceedings as did the Murphy Irish dancers, while a number of local businesses had floats in the parade.

The village remained busy over the bank holiday weekend, with reports of ice cream sales at a record high for this time of year, while pub goers enjoyed traditional music and some refreshments in the village’s pubs.
