County final Scór table quiz

-

ST. Martin’s GAA club hosted the county final of the Scór table quiz to see which club would go on to the All-Ireland final to represent Wexford. The event was held in St. Martin’s complex and was open to all club members in County Wexford.

‘In total we had seven clubs join us. We had Clongeen, Buffers Alley, St. James’, Sarsfields, Volunteers, St. Martin’s, Clonard and Bannow-Ballymitty, so there were about 40 people altogether. It was a great turn-out compared to previous years,’ said St. Martin’s club member Cian Ó Lionáin.

The quiz had ten rounds of eight questions and each round had one question ‘as Gaeilge’.

‘ The winning team was St. Martin’s by one point. We had a table from Volunteers who came second and then Clonard came third. The winning team will now go on and represent Wexford in the All-Ireland final in Belfast on May 6,’ said Cian.

The winners - Cian Ó Lionáin, Peadar Dempsey, Kevin Waters, Paddy Murphy - received an engraved glass trophy. Chairperson Aine Kennedy ended the night by thanking everyone who participated. She was delighted to see such an increase in clubs.
