March 1990

-

A quarter page advert for a leading Wexford town off-licence in a March 1990 issue listed the price of drink at the time as £3.49 for a six-pack of Guinness, Smithwicks, or McArdles; £10.65 for a bottle of Huzzar Vodka; and £12.98 for a bottle of Powers Gold Label Whiskey.

The placing of the advert was somewhat unfortunate, however.

It took up a quarter of the page, but the remaining three quarters of the page were taken up with a special feature on the St Vincent De Paul Society’s Ozanam House facility in Wexford - which caters for people with problems including alcoholism.
