Popular night spot is sold for £300,000

Popular North Wexford nightspot, The Hydro in Kilmuckrid­ge, has been sold for a figure believed to be close to £300,000.

The new owner in Sean Doyle, a painting and decorating contractor from Garrydanie­l, Monamolin, who took possession of the premises on March 1.

On the following day, Thursday, he was granted the ad-interim transfer of the licence at Rathdrum Court, the intoxicati­ng liquor licence having been endorsed over to him the previous day by previous owner, Norman Buttle.

Mr Brendan Murphy is being employed by Mr Doyle as manager of The Hydro, a position he held before for a period of six years. Mr Murphy told Judge Donnchadh O Buachalla that he had worked in the trade for 18 years, the other 12 in his own premises.
