There was no jackpot winner in last week’s draw when the numbers drawn were 18, 26, 27 and 28. This week’s jackpot now stands at €16,850. Well done to Garrett Finn of Kinnagh, who somehow managed to match three numbers twice to win €100 each time.

DAFFODIL DAY

As Daffodil Day approaches we are again looking for volunteers to helppick and sell daffodils in the local area.

On Thursday the 23rd we will be picking and collecting flowers at the school at 9.30 a.m. On Friday the 24th there will be a coffee morning in the hall in Gusserane from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. All are welcome to come in for a chat and a cuppa.

EASTER CAMP

Tintern Childcare are holding their annual Easter Camp from Monday, April 10, to Thursday, April 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The cost is €45per child for children aged four to eight years. Activities include Easter egg hunt, arts and crafts, puppet show, disco games, cooking and muchmore. Spaces are limited so please call to the Childcare Centre to collect an applicatio­n form or phone 051 562015.

PAEDIATRIC FIRST AID

Tintern Childcare are organising a paediatric first aid course on Saturday, March 25, in the Sports Complex in Ballyculla­ne from 9.30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The cost is €60 per person. If your interested in attending phone Lorraine at 051 562015.

CHURCH GATE COLLECTION

The recent Church gate collection on behalf of Gorta Selfhelp Africa amounted to €150.34. This money will help improve lives and living conditions across 12 African countries. Gorta Selfhelp Africa would like to thank everyone for their generosity.

GAA CLUB NEWS

A large crowd from the parish was in New Ross to view the Gusserane presence in the St Patrick’s Day parade last Friday. The club filled two floats with players and mentors where they celebrated the 2016 senior football title. Operation Transforma­tion also featured prominentl­y with Mairead Redmond talking her place on the float. On the field of play it was a good weekend for the club also.

The senior footballer­s defeated Bannow-Ballymitty in an entertaini­ng league game on Saturday while the minor hurlers continued their winning ways with a good win over Cloughbawn on Sunday.
