SBR was busy this weekend taking in races around the region.

Joe Lillis started the weekend off well, finishing 6th in the Poulmucka Road Race on Friday night.

Pedro Calvo picked up the 1st SBR win of the weekend on Saturday morning and in the process broke Myles Gibbons’ Gorey Park Run record with a lightning fast 16:23 for 5K.

Tomas Kavanagh took to the Tullow Park Run on Saturday and came away victorious as well placing 1st in a time of 17:52.

SBR was well represented at the Holy Cow 10 Mile in Tinahely Sunday along the Wicklow Way.

On a very hilly course, Tom Hogan and Myles Gibbons finished first and second. Noel Kennedy finished a strong fourth and Patrick Curley rounded out a great SBR finish in fifth.

At the Vinegar Hill 5 Mile in Enniscorthy, SBR had some strong showings as well.

Mairead O’Neill was first home for the club on the day in 42:16 and she was followed by Frances Murphy in 43:36, Tom Kavanagh in 44:19 and Stephen O’Leary in 52:58. Well done all!

Further afield, Paul Gibbons won the 5K at the Club La Santa in Lanzarote and Louise Kehoe was the first woman home.

A nice evening in Gorey kicked off the SBR Summer League with 29 finishers over the 5K distance this past Wednesday.

A moment of silence for the late Noel Hendrick of DMP who passed away this past week was had before the race led by Lukie Kehoe.

The men’s race was won by Myles Gibbons in 16:51 after a duel with his brother Paul who finished in 17:01. Christine Hill led out the women finishing in a fantastic 22:54 ahead of Louise Kehoe and Lisa Murphy.

Please join us on Wednesday in Ferns at 7:30PM (registration at 7PM) for 5K as the SBR Summer League continues. The League is for non-affiliated runners who want to sample club running or any SBR runners.
