The Trócaire Collection for 2017 in the parish showed a fantastic return of €1,860 which was a tremendous achievement for our relatively small parish in population terms. Trócaire do great work in Third World countries are are well deserving of the support they get at Easter time. BEREAVED

Sincere sympathy goes to Mrs Beda Phelan of Ballyfoyle on the recent death of her father, Michael Murphy from Ballyfacey Glenmore. In his 90-year Michael was laid to rest in Glenmore cemetery on Sunday last after the 11 o’clock Mass. FÉILE NA GAEL

On June 16 Tullogher-Rosbercon GAA Club will play host to hurling teams from St Anne’s Wexford, Clonaslee St Manmam’s from Laois, and a team from Westmeath in the 2017 Féile. It should be a fantastic weekend of hurling on the excellent Brownstown pitch with all the modern facilities attached. HURLING AMBASSADOR

The Tullogher-Rosbercon juvenile section is delighted to announce that All Star and triple all-Ireland winner, Walter Walsh, has agreed to become the club’s hurling ambassador. This will give a great boost of confidence and support to the young players. Walter’s first official outing in his role as ambassador will to be open the proceedings for Féile on June 16.

It was a good weekend for the intermediate hurlers who had a convincing win over the Fenian’s Johnstown in the Kilkenny/ League championship. In the game played at Palmerstown they outscored the Northern outfit by 2-20 to 1-9 and in the process picked up very valuable league points. The under-14 team kept up the good work beating Piltown 5-8 to 1-10 in their game. NEWLY BAPTISED

We welcome into our Parish Community, Donnchadh John Flynn, who was baptised in St Aidan’s Church Tullogher on Sunday, May 7. He is son of Seán and Siobhán (née Murphy) from Trenaree, Brownsford.
