Well done to Gavin Sheehan and Sam Wall, who both played in Wexford’s minor footballer­s’ Leinster quarter final win over Carlow last weekend. Hard luck to Adrian Flynn, who played in the senior championsh­ip game afterwards in Carlow but lost out to the home team.

Well done to Gusserane’s senior footballer­s on a good league win over Horeswood last Saturday night and hard luck to the junior B footballer­s who were beaten by a single point by Rathgarogu­e-Cushinstow­n in an entertaini­ng game in Gusserane, also on Saturday evening.

Finally, well done to the Gusserane ladies’ footballer­s on another great win in the championsh­ip. They defeated a strong St Martin’s team in Gusserane on Sunday evening last. VINTAGE RUN

The Cassagh Vintage Run in aid of the New Houghton Hospital Residents’ Activities takes place on Sunday, May 28. It leaves Alan Morrissey’s Pub at 1 p.m. Registrati­on starts at 11 a.m. There will be a DJ and barbecue back in Alan’s from 4 p.m. This will be preceded by live music and a raffle on the Saturday night beforehand. Dates for the annual patron and blessing of the Graves have now been finalised. On Saturday, June 17, the graveyards at Poul (6 p.m.) and Rathimney (6.30 p.m.) will be visited.

On Saturday, June 24, the graveyard at Nash will be visited at 6 p.m. This will be followed at 7 p.m. by a visit to Gusserane Cemetery where outdoor mass will take place, weather permitting. The patron this year falls on the actual feast day of St John the Baptist, after whom the church in Gusserane is dedicated.
