Congratulations and thanks to all our club members who came out in force on Sunday to make the Strawberry half-marathon and five-mile road race another great success.
These races are our annual club fundraisers and it is great to see it supported by so many from the locality and beyond.
The winner of the Strawberry half-marathon race was Tom Hogan from S.B.R in a time of 1.12.32, and the ladies’ winner was Catherine O’Connor from Parnell A.C. in 1.28.49.
The first Slaney man home was David Kehoe in 1.20.36, and the first Slaney lady home was Karen Murphy in 1.44.29.
In the five-mile race, Niall Sheil from St. Killian’s was first across the line in 28.24, and the ladies’ winner was Jackie Carthy from Kilmore A.C. in 32.06.
First Slaney man home was Enda Cloake in 29.03, and first Slaney lady home was Gosia Syzmura in 40.39.
In the category prizes, Mick Morrissey won the Over-55 in 1.35.47, Sabina Sweeney was the winner in the Over45 category with a time of 1.45.28, and Annis Kehoe won the Over-60 in 2.15.17 for the half-marathon.

In the Rock n Roll half-marathon in Liverpool on Sunday, Joanne Murphy was first Slaney across the line in a great time of 1.58.17.

Emma Doran and Garry Rooney were both in action on Sunday in the Manchester half-marathon and completed the course together in a time of 2.00.45. Well done everyone!
