Starting at 10 a.m. at Wexford quayfront, going over Forth Mountain before returning to town. Register through focussportsnutrition.ie or active.com. There will be 10 water stations on the route. Number collections from midday till 5 p.m. on June 10 and again on morning of marathon from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.
NORMAN WAY FAMILY CYCLE
The Norman Way Family Cycle, run by Hook Ringers, will take place from Our Lady’s Island to Tomhaggard at 9.45 a.m. on Sunday, June 11. Registration opens at 9 a.m. There will be several stops along the way and once the cyclists reach Tomhaggard they will be transported back by bus to Our Lady’s Island for refreshments. The first 50 that register can avail of a free T-shirt. This event is being held as part of National Bike Week.
GARDENS OPEN DAY
An open day at Walter Kelly Tombrick Gardens takes place on Sunday, June 11, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. in aid of St Anthony’s Unit, County Wexford Community Workshop, Enniscorthy. Tea will be served and there will be a raffle on the day.
CLASSIC CAR SHOW
The Classic Car Show at Wells House and Gardens returns on Sunday, June 11, running from 10 a.m. The hugely popular event sees motoring enthusiasts display their collections from modern day sports to vintage cars.

BUNSCOIL LORETO FIELD DAY
Bunscoil Loreto, Gorey, will hold a field day fundraiser on Sunday, June 11, in the school grounds at 2 p.m. There will be attractions to entertain all including bottle stalls, duck races, book stalls, wheel of fortune, soak a teacher and even the chance to win a fish or two. All proceeds go towards the pitch fund.
BLACKWATER STREET FEAST
Blackwater Tidy Towns is hosting Street Feast on Sunday, June 11, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the church carpark. There will be music, hopefully some dancing and a chance for everyone to meet one another. Light refreshments will be available in the Community Centre Hall and of course there is also the playground for the little ones.
CHARITY 30KM CYCLE
Ballygarrett Cycling Club (Macamore Wheelers) is holding a charity 30km cycle on Sunday, June 11, at 2 p.m. in aid of local causes. This year they are helping to raise funds for the development of play facilities at St Mary’s NS. Registration is at 1.45 p.m. The cycle departs the local church car park and takes in Courtown, Gorey and Ballycanew before returning to Ballygarrett. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Refreshments in the school afterwards.
MONAMOLIN PATRON
The Monamolin Patron and field day will take place on Sunday, June 11, at 2 p.m. Mass will take place in the graveyard, weather permitting, followed by the field day on Monamolin school grounds. Parish tickets in circulation this week from the parish council and via the primary school. Excellent prizes. Draw will take place at the field day.
TRACIE LAWLOR WALK
The annual walk to remember Tracie Lawlor will take place on Sunday, June 11, in Castlebridge.
Registration will take place from 10 a.m in Castlebridge Square and the cost is €20, which includes a meal in the Talbot Hotel or €10 to participate in the walk only.
The walk gets under way at 11 o’clock from the square and heads off to the Talbot Hotel, where a lovely meal awaits. It is only just over 4km so anyone of any age can take part. If you need further information contact Ian at 087 6091667.
TRACTOR RUN
The annual tractor run in aid of Scoil Mhuire, Broadway, will take place on Sunday, June 11. Registration is from midday and all participants will leave Our Lady’s Island Community Centre at 12.30 p.m. Bangers and mash, dessert, tea and coffee available for all from 12.30 p.m. Indoor and outdoor games and fun for all from 12.30 p.m. The event is in support of the school.
DUFFRY ROVERS TRACTOR RUN
Duffry Rovers GAA club are holding a tractor run on Sunday, June 11, starting in Kiltealy village at 2 p.m. The proceeds are in support of Christine Weafer’s ‘fight for her sight’. There will be amusements and refreshments in the Thatch afterwards.
WHITNEY: CAN I BE ME?
The premiere of ‘Whitney: Can I Be Me?’ will be shown in Movies@ Gorey on Sunday, June 11, at 6 p.m., followed by a Q&A with director Nick Broomfield and a tribute performance by Michelle John from The Voice. It will be brought to the big screen live via satellite from Sheffield Doc/Fest.

Exhibition on Screen will present ‘Michaelangelo – Love and Death’ in Movies@Gorey on Tuesday, June 13, at 8.20 p.m. To coincide with a new exhibition at the National Gallery of London, this film offers a full and fresh biography of Michelangelo, who is considered one of the greatest artists of the Renaissance – and perhaps of all time. CYCLE IN KILMUCKRIDGE
On Tuesday, June 13, there will be a 7km family cycle run by the KBC Cycle Club. Registration will take place from 6.30 p.m. at St Joseph’s AFC, Kilmuckridge, with the cycle run getting under way at 7 p.m.

On Thursday, June 15, at Wexford Arts Centre, the UK songwriter and folk musician Richard Navarro will be in concert with Nicholas Thurston on double bass, guitar and synthesisers. The pair have supported Joan Armatrading on tour. The Wexford-based choir Stagefright will perform after the interval.

CHRISTY MOORE
Legendary Irish singer-songwriter Christy Moore is performing at St Michael’s Theatre in New Ross on Friday, June 16. The renowned singer is currently performing a solo tour of Ireland. Mixing the traditional Irish folk sounds with the (then) emerging sounds of rock’n’roll, Christy Moore emerged in the late 1960s as a shining new voice in Irish music. Since then he has carved out an extremely consistent career, both as a solo artist and with his bands, Planxty and Moving Hearts. GOREY’S GOT TALENT
The final of the Gorey’s Got Talent competition takes place in the Ashdown Park Hotel, Gorey, on Friday, June 16, at 8 p.m. Tickets for the show are €10. Gorey’s most talented act will be decided by a combination of judges’ and audience votes. The event is a fundraiser towards the cost of the Rasper Players’ participation in the World Festival of Amateur Theatre in August.

The Gorey Show returns to Clonattin on Saturday, June 17, with a day full of entertainment. Competition classes include show jumping, pony games, indoor craft competitions and cattle classes. CELTIC SOUL
The Irish première of ‘Celtic Soul’ will be shown in Movies@Gorey on Saturday, June 17, at 7 p.m.
Directed and written by Michael McNamara, this film follows Canadian actor and funny man Jay Baruchel on an epic road trip through Canada, Ireland and Scotland with his new friend, Irish soccer journalist Eoin O’Callaghan. It’s a story that spans 200 years of colourful history and that will take the duo eastward from Montreal to Westport, Ireland – where Jay’s ancestors set sail for Canada, like so many others – and finally Glasgow, where Jay will fulfil a lifelong dream: to watch a match at Celtic Park, one of the wildest and most hallowed grounds in world football.
BASCIVILLE AT ARTS CENTRE
On Saturday, June 17, at Wexford Arts Centre, there will be a concert by five-piece band Basciville, founded by Wexford siblings Cillian and Lorcan Byrne and focusing on Irish soul and blues music. The pair graduated with honours degrees in jazz and have toured extensively throughout Ireland and Europe. Influences range from marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Ella Fitzgerald, Jeff Buckley, Led Zeppelin and Ry Cooder.
PIERCE TURNER IN ST IBERIUS

NATIONAL BIKE WEEK EVENTS
Three events will be held on Sunday, June 18, as part of National Bike Week:
A family cycle, run by Enniscorthy Lions Club, will leave from Kilcannon Garden Centre at 10 a.m. Registration is from 9.45 a.m. Suitable for families, there is a 2km young children’s route and a 7km route for older children. Children must be accompanies by a guardian or parent.
At 10 a.m. Staying Alive for 1.5, in association with Slaney Cycling Club, is facilitating a Wexford Bus 1 Point 5 ride, consisting of three different routes of 30km, 50km and 100km ‘in order to highlighlight the minimum safe distance for passing’. Sign-on at Bunclody AFC, on Church Road, Bunclody, will take place from 8 a.m. with deparure set for 10 a.m. For more information call 086 8114118.
At 2 p.m. Ounvarra Cycling Club will be running a 12km family cycle, departing from Ballycanew, outside Goslins Pub, at 2 p.m. Registration opens at 2 p.m. The pace will be easy and there will be a barbecue at the finish at Goslin’s.
