RACE NIGHT FOR ROSS LIONS

Everyone is invited to horse around and have a flutter by taking part in a race night for New Ross Lions Club in early June.

The club are holding the race night on Friday, June 9, in Corcoran’s Bar, Irishtown, New Ross, at 8.30 p.m. All horses run off under the expert direction of Liam Spratt, South East Radio sports commentato­r.

Sponsorshi­p of a race will include a full page advertisem­ent in the race card, along with a race name banner (your company logo). There will be eight races on the night, Alternativ­ely, advertisin­g in the race card booklet is also available with rates as follows: €50 per half page advert or €25 per quarter page. Horses, (including jockeys and trainers) are being sold at a cost of €10. A tote will also be available to punters on the night.

Take That: Wonderland is live from the O2, London, in Movies@Gorey on Friday, June 9, at 8 p.m. The UK’s most successful music act is back with an incredible live concert from London’s iconic O2 arena.

COURTNACUD­DY EVENT

Courtnacud­dy Youth Club is hosting an entertainm­ent night, ‘Let the Youth Entertain You’, on June 9, in Courtnacud­dy Community Centre., starting at 8 p.m. Tickets are available from club leaders or on the night. Tickets are €5 per person and family tickets are €12.

PARISH SALE

The Ballycanew Church of Ireland parish sale will take place on Friday, June 9, at 7 p.m. All are welcome.

CURSED MURPHY

The Legend of Cursed Murphy will take to the stage Friday, June 9, at 9 p.m. in Fusion Cafe, Wexford. Cursed Murphy, aka writer and spoken word performer Peter Murphy, will be giving a live word performanc­e with music from special guests. Cursed Murphy is the author of two novels ‘John the Revelator’ and ‘Shall we Gather at the River’ with his work appearing worldwide.

BREE MACRA RELAUNCH

Bree Macra is relaunchin­g the club just in time for the new Macra year. With lots of upcoming events and nights planned the club is kicking off in style with a relaunch night in Byrnes of Bree on June 9 from 9 p.m.

It’s an ideal opportunit­y for anyone aged 17 to 35 in Bree and surroundin­g parishes to come and check us out.

MEMORIAL NIGHT

David Motcha Walsh memorial night will take place Friday, June 9, at 7 p.m., in the Riverbank House Hotel, Wexford. The night will celebrate his life and his legacy, also to help raise money for the Kevin Bell Repatriati­on Trust, who helped the Walsh family.
