Well done to our under-14 girls who their Leinster quarter final against a tough Carlow side in Football. The girls are now into the Leinster semi-final which will be held on July 1 in Carlow IT. Best of luck to our under-10 boys who are waiting to play Carlow in their Leinster quarter final in football.

Our Under-sixes had a great day on Sunday, June 11, with our Three New Ross Blitz. We had over 200 children playing on the morning with 22 teams on the pitches. Thanks to everyone who took part and supported the future players of our clubs. Well done to the under-10 boys who took part in the Hurling on the Quay in Wexford last Saturday. Great fun was had and they managed to the sliotar out of the Slaney. The under-nine and under-10 boys played in the final matches in the SuperValu Molloy League on Sunday morning in New Ross. The under-nines defeating Glenmore and under-10s defeating Glenmore.

Academy – The Academy would like to sincerely thank Shane O’Hanlon, Games Developmen­t Officer with the County Board, for coming to our training on Monday the 12th. Shane gave our coaches and children a ‘master class’ in training. This was a great chance for the teams to learn and improve their skills and everyone, trainers and kids alike, had a great evening. To coincide with our club’s Fit (ish) Family event we are running an Academy Fun Day on Saturday, July 1. This will be the centre-piece of our Academy year and we are planning a great funfilled afternoon for all the boys and girls of our club. More details to follow.

Fundraiser­s – In Aid Of O’brien Fit (Ish) Family: Drop off all unwanted clothes, coats, handbags: backpacks, belts, ties, curtains, bed linen, shoes, blankets (no duvets), towels and soft toys. All funds raised will go towards developmen­t of new GAA grounds. Drop off point is the club house at the GAA pitch. The parish pilgrimage to Knock (overnight) takes place 17th and July 18. The pick-up points will be Cushinstow­n, Terrerath, New Ross and by arrangemen­t. Wexford Football Academy will be running their annual Soccer Camp again this year in Shelburne United Ballywilli­am from Monday the seventh-Friday, August 11,. They will hold a registrati­on night in Shelburne pitch on Thursday, June 29, from 7.30 p.m. to 9 p.m. This is to try on your kit size so it will be available at the start of camp.
