Earle and Collier win Owens Cup horseshoes
THE PADDY Owens Cup horseshoes event was held in Ferns on Saturday.
Semi-finals: Brendan Earle (Monageer) and Dean Collier (Doran’s Bridge) beat Tom Connors (Woodsmen) and Jim Cogley (Cranford), 21-19; Walter Christopher (Monageer) and John Kehoe (Doran’s Bridge) beat Richard Collier (Doran’s Bridge) and Mick Sunderland Snr. (Monageer), 21-18.
Final: Brendan Earle and Dean Collier beat Walter Christopher and John Kehoe, 21-12.
Congratulations to Earle and Collier on a very good performances throughout the evening.
The Wexford league has reached the halfway stage. Here are the current standings -
Division 1: Woodsmen, 18 points; Monageer, 17 points; Vinegar Hill, 14 points; Doran’s Bridge ‘A’, 12 points.
Division 2: Monart, 12 points; Doran’s Bridge ‘B’, five points; Curracloe, five points.
The league will continue on July 5, after the Wexford league Division 1 and 2 tournaments.
