Gourmet beach food market open

DUNCANNON village is hosting Ireland’s first ‘Gourmet Beach Market’ this summer.

Taking place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. every Sunday until August 27, the artisan market features wild and organic foods, cakes, chutneys, crepes, fruit, veg, barbecue meat, fish including Cloonagh Smokin Soul otherwise know as ‘ the BBQ guys’ who are representing Ireland in the world barbecue championships in Limerick later this year, along with a host of other local food producers and growers.

One of the organiser’s behind the new concept is Hooked Kitesurfing and Adventure School owner Niall Roche. Niall said: ‘ Almost every town and village in the country hosts a food market and we very much want to celebrate and showcase the large cohort of multi-award winning food and food producers from the Wexford area, therefore we have placed a great emphasis on artisanal foods, local and gourmet for our market experience.’
