Gardaí thank public

NEW ROSS gardaí wish to thank the public for their help in apprehending a local man following a robbery at Forristals Jewellers.

Sergeant Eddie Wilde said members of the public played a key role in executing the arrest on the afternoon of July 11 in New Ross.

Sgt Wilde said: ‘ The people of New Ross stood up once again and their actions went a long way towards helping us. Their civic mindedness was extraordinary and was vital to our investigation.’

He also praised the female staff member of the jewellers for the bravery and cool head she showed that morning.
