Homeless man in court

-

A drugs possession charge against Patrick Connors (39) of no fixed abode was marked ‘taken into consideration’ with a Circuit Court sentence already served.

The homeless defendant came before Judge John Cheatle at the District Court sitting in Wexford.

He admitted that he had €50 worth of heroin (diamorphine) at New Ross garda station in January of last year.

It was also accepted that he had five previous convictions for drugs possession and solicitor Colette Culleton said her client thought that all matters facing Connors had been dealt with.

He was now out of jail after serving the Circuit Court sentence at the Midlands Prison and was on the waiting list for a bed at Ozanam House hostel.
