County childcare services to get an extra €163,000

CHILDCARE services in Wexford are to receive more than €163,000 in extra funding.

‘ The money will be used to provide more than new childcare places, maintenanc­e and building work as well as outdoor play areas and is available for immediate draw-down by providers here in Wexford,’ said Minister Paul Kehoe.

The allocation­s are:

Blackstair­s Community Playschool, €34,020.75; South West Wexford Community Developmen­t Group, €13,452; Horeswood Community Childcare Group Limited, €10,202.77; Gorey Youth Needs Group Limited ,€19,522.00; Crossabeg Community Childcare Centre Limited, €20,000; Taghmon Integrated Local Developmen­t Team Limited, €10,029; Blackstair­s Community Playschool; €5,000; Anne Butler, €4,971.30; Teach na bPaisti Limited, €5,000; Lucy Feaheny, €4,585; Kilmuckrid­ge Community & Family Resource Enterprise Ltd, €4,808; Joanne Earley, €5,000; Raheen Community Developmen­t Group Limited, €3,689.69; Maud Hayes, €5,000; Orlagh & James Doyle, €5,000; Marie Hughes; €3,430; Leanne Kehoe, €4,831.50 and Frances Wadding, €5,000.

‘ This funding will benefit children, families and providers under our Early Years programmes, and will contribute to the developmen­t of an infrastruc­ture that is ready to meet the radical new approach to subsidisin­g childcare outlined in Budget 2017,’ said Minister Kehoe.
