Lucasz Stefaniak of Millstream House, Ryleen, New Ross was convicted of careless driving in the wake of a collision with a bakery lorry which left him with serious head and back injuries.

The accident occurred at Berkeley on April 10 in 2014 when the 35 year old defendant lost control and spun a friend’ s Toyota Prime rain to the path of the lorry, which belong to Stafford’s bakery.

To make matters worse, as well as being badly hurt, it turned out that Stefaniak’s insurance did not cover his driving of the Primera.

A fine of €250 was imposed for the lack of cover, with the careless driving charge taken into consideration – no additional penalty.

A Polish driving licence was produced in court.
