BINGO

Bongo is played every Tuesday night at 8.30 p.m. in Rathnure hall. Rathnure Bingo is active on Facebook, search ‘Rathnure Bingo’ and like our page. The bingo jackpot on Tuesday the 25th is €3,600.

SENIOR SOCIAL CLUB

On behalf of all the volunteers in Senior Social Club, we would like to thank Templeudigan and Killanne Text Alert, the communities of Rathnure, Killanne and Templeudigan for all their support on our recent Barbecue and Fun Day. To everyone, too many to mention – thank you. Total raised: €1,580.

GAA CLUB LOTTO

The numbers drawn last Tuesday the 18th were 1, 8, 12 and 30. There was no jackpot winner. Caroline O’Connell, Ballybawn, Mary Martin, Ballybawn, Wesley Hatton, Ballyhyland, Marie Murphy, Cummer and Caroline Foley, Camolin were the five matchthree winners who each won €40. The jackpot this week is €15,000.

RATHNURE UNITED FC

The club held their AGM on Friday, June 30. The following officers were elected:

Chairperson: Ann Butler, secretary: Johnny Kirwan, treasurer: Rosie Carty, Fixtures and Registration Officer: Stephen Hector Quigley. Committee members: Gary O’Leary, Paul Newman, David Lennon, Kenneth Redmond, Mick O’Leary, Brendan Duran and Mick Reddy.

The following teams are been entered for the 2017/18 season: under-sevens, under-nines, under-10s Manager: Paul Newman, under-12s, under-13s Managers: Mick Reddy, Gary O’Leary and Antony O’Connell, under-16s: Mick O’Leary, Seniors: Hector Quigley.

A registration and membership evening will be held on Friday, August 4, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the soccer pitch. The usual fun soccer match will be played with bbq and activities and end of season presentation.

Membership is now due and can be paid to any committee member before or on the day of registration. Membership fees are as follows: underage players (under-16s down): €20, Students: €30, Seniors: €100, family membership (2 adults, two underage): €50, non-player members: €20. Please note that girls can now play up to under-16s with the boys. All new players and members welcome, just come along and join.

GROUP WATER SCHEME

If you have not paid your water rates for the Blackstairs Group Water Scheme you can do so in Rathnure hall on Wednesday, July 26, or in the Top Place, Ballywilliam on Wednesday, August 2, between 7.30 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. Alternatively you can pay at the office at Conran’s, Rathnure from Tuesday to Friday, send a cheque to that office, or pay online.
