Lift-off for digger driver Jon with bride Joeleen

- BY DAVID LOOBY

WHEN she was a child Joeleen Doyle dreamed of being a JCB driver and although this didn’t come to pass she got the next best thing when she married digger driver Jonathan Byrne – arriving in style on a digger with him to the Brandon House Hotel recently.

Joeleen, from Castledockrell, met Jonathan at Benedict’s nightclub in Enniscorthy in April 2010 and the couple hit it off straight away. They welcomed a beautiful boy into their lives earlier this year, who they named Christopher.

Joeleen and Jonathan were married at Castledockrell Church on a beautiful sunmmer’s day on Saturday, August 12.

The couple surprised their 120 guests by arriving in one of Jonathan’s father’s diggers at the Brandon House Hotel, where Joeleen’s father Greg is general manager.

The couple enjoyed a fantastic day with family and friends and wish to thank the hotel staff for their exceptional service and wonderful meal. Joeleen said she loved the poem written by her father about his little girl growing up and embarking on a new life with Jonathan.

Joeleen (26) and Jonathan (31), who live together in Kiltealy, thanked digger driver Alan Sinnott, Jonathan’s father, John and everyone who made their day so special. The best man was Jonathan’s brother Anthony Byrne and the chief bridesmaid was Joeleen’s sister Daryl, with their siblings, Craig, Shane and Michelle also enjoying a wonderful family day.

The happy couple are currently enjoying their honeymoon in County Mayo.
