Adamstown AC is holding a cross country competitio­n on Sunday, September 10, starting at noon at Rothwell’s field opposite Adamstown Church. Races: U14 & U15 (1600m); U12 & U13 (1200m); U10 & U11 (800m); U9 (400m), junior and senior. Medals for first ten individual­s from U9 - U16 and for top three for junior and senior. The aim of this talk/workshop is to show the public how easy it is to access the informatio­n contained in these valuable cultural resources – via PCs in their local library or from the comfort of their own homes. The session also aims to show that these resources are available to everyone – no matter how limited your computer skills may be you can still get involved.

The next Tina Cahill fundraisin­g event is a barbecue in Corcoran’s pub in the Irishtown on Saturday, September 2, at 7 p.m. with a DJ from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. is also being played each night.

One of the organisers said: ‘We welcome each and everyone: senior citizens, young and children alike to try it and enjoy a great night out and win some money into the bargain.’ A great night of fun guaranteed.
