There was no winner of the Tintern lotto last week when the numbers drawn were 3, 15, 19 and 26. The match-three winners were Carrie Browne of Coole and Patsy Flood O’Connor of Ballygarva­n and each won €300. This week’s jackpot stands at €4,100.

A group of residents from the greater Ballyculla­ne and Clongeen areas would like to avail of this forum to say goodbye to the Clongeen Tuesday Rural Bus service that had been provided by Markie and Ann Sinnott for the past 15 years. A floral basket was presented on their behalf to Liam óg, their grandson, in appreciati­on of their excellent service given over the years. They will be greatly missed.

LADIES’ FOOTBALL

Well done to our under-16 Mogue O’Rahillys, who had a big win over starlights last Monday evening in Gusserane. They now play Glynn-Barntown in the semi-final at a date to be confirmed.

Our adult ladies have booked their place in this year’s intermedia­te county final after beating Fethard in Gusserane on Friday evening on a scoreline of 3-10 to 1-8. They now face St Martin’s which is due to be played the first weekend in September. The team was Ellie Byrne, Bev Kehoe, Anna Breen, Shelly Ryan, Aoidin Kiely, Aoife Drennan, Amanda Power, Ashling Murphy, Sinéad Egan, Ciara Ryan, Siobhán Kehoe, Ciara O’Connor, Fiona Reville, Áine McGarr and Áine Kinsella. Subs Siobhán Byrne for Siobhán Kehoe and Niamh Browne for Áine Kinsella.

Finally the club would like to congratula­te the girls who got their leaving cert results during the week and wish them all of the best for the future.

SILVER CIRCLE

The fist of 10 Silver Circle draws took place in the club house in Gusserane GAA last week. The organisers would like to thank all those who sold lines and also those who supported the draw. Entry in each week’s draw costs only €2 and there is still time to get your name in the hat by contacting any official of Gusserane GAA Club. Last week’s winners were Michael Barron Jnr (€100), Séamus Cullen of Kinnagh (€50), Kevin Sam Whelan (€25) and Caroline Whelan (€25).

TINTERN TRAILS RUN

Gusserane Coiste na nÓg will hold their next Tintern Trails Run/ Walk in the grounds of Tintern Abbey on Sunday, September 3, starting at 10 a.m. This event continues
