Rounders title retained

-

GLYNN-BARNTOWN rounders team travelled to the National Sports Centre in Abbotstown on Sunday to defend their All-Ireland title.

They were playing against Cuchulainn of Carlow. From the get go Glynn-Barntown had their sights on the trophy and retaining their title.

This was very evident when batter Kate Duggan stepped up and delivered a fantastic home run for Glynn-Barntown. The Wexford side went on to take the game and the trophy back to Slaneyside for another year on a 54-19 scoreline. The team would like to extend their gratitude to everyone who travelled to support them.

A special thanks goes to Fr. John Carroll and Mark Brazzill, Chairman of the Barntown parish pitch committee, for allowing us to use their facilities to train throughout the season.

Secondly, a special thank you to John Cooney, Chairman of Glynn-Barntown G.A.A. club, for facilitiating our home games and use of the clubhouse.

The club already have their sights set on the 2018 season and look forward to welcoming new team members in the new year.
