Ford to the fore for upcoming Tullogher Rosbercon field day

Tullogher Rosbercon Vintage Club are holding their annual field day this Sunday, with the focus firmly on Ford.

More than 100 Ford tractors, trucks and cars will be on show to mark 100 years of the famous American car company in Ireland, at Rosbercon Parish Centre from 1 p.m.

The family day out will be opened by a surprise special guest and will include an U8 hurling tournament, rugby skills, a fun fair, threshing, a dog show, a penalty shoot out competitio­n, Wheel of Fortune, butter making, a bouncy castle, a Toss The Sheaf competitio­n, a line dancing display, children’s races, children’s fancy dress, steam engines and a raffle.

There will be prizes for best vintage cars, tractors, trucks, motorbikes and oil engines and a keyring for all vintage exhibitors.

One of the organisers, Pierce Handrick said: ‘ We expect a large number of Ford tractors and cars to mark Ford’s 100 years in Ireland. We are hoping to have every Ford model of tractor and car ever built on show, as well as all the other makes.’

Among the vehicles will be many from the South East Ford Ireland six cylinder club, while members from many of the other vintage clubs in Wexford and Kilkenny and further afield, will attend.

‘We will have good prizes for all categories. Everyone is welcome to come along to what is a great family day out.’
