Enniscorthy Town make a winning start to the season

Division 3

Enniscorthy Town kicked their season off with a victory as they saw off Bree United 2-0 with goals from Johnny Whelan and Joe Hyland.

Their local rivals Enniscorthy United also made a winning start, with Jamie Fox scoring from a free-kick in the last minute as they edged out Forth Celtic 3-2.

Hasane Smyth got their other two goals, with Anthony Hayes also helping himself to a double for Forth.

Mark Corish got both goals for Rosslare Port as they picked up a 2-1 win away to Ajax Athletic, while Conor Thorpe got the goal for Bunclody as they drew 1-1 in Duncannon.

Gorey Rangers and Cushinstown also shared the spoils after a 2-2 draw, with Derick Woods and Cillian Cushe scoring for the north county side and Cushinstown replying with a 20-metre volley from Johnny Murphy and a James Whelan goal.

Division 3A

Oylegate fought back from a goal down at the break to earn a 2-1 win over Rosslare Rangers in Division 3A on Sunday.

The visitors went ahead through Tyrone O’Reilly, but Ryan Hill equalised for Oylegate and John McCormack grabbed the winner.

Eoghan ‘Snowy’ Kehoe bagged a brace for Ballymurn as they saw off Shelburne 3-0, with Shane O’Rourke also getting on the scoresheet.

Raheen began the season with a five-star display, winning 5-0 away to New Ross Celtic, with Paul Delaney, Peter Finn (two), Frank Staples and James Delaney getting their goals.

Rathnure also made a winning start, seeing off Rosbercon 2-0 with goals from Johnny Kirwan and Anthony Westnott, while Bridge Rovers edged out Fethard 2-1.

Rosslare Strand and Wexford Albion played out a 2-2 draw, with Danny O’Reilly and Conor Clancy scoring for Strand and Jay Daly and Jamie Thomas hitting the back of the net for the Wexford town side.

Division 4

There’s no doubting what was the game of the day as All Blacks edged out Carne F.C. 6-5 in a thrilling local derby on Sunday.

Shane Sinnott bagged a hattrick for the winners, with Aaron Wright-Power, David Moore and Mark Doyle also gettting in on the act, and Denver Kinsella, Leigh Aylward, Robbie Reville and Fergie Buckley (two) replying for Carne.

Corach Ramblers scored six of the best away to The Ballagh, winning 6-1 with goals from Alan Diskin (two), Aaron Neville, Jaydee Cahill, Jon Reville and James Crosbie.

Aaron Lambert (two), Alan Flood and Ian Farrell got on the scoresheet for Wexford Bohs as they overcame Courtown Hibs 4-2, while Curracloe were too good for Castledockrell, winning 6-2 thanks to a Kerill Sutton double and goals from John Tyrell, Paddy Doyle, Wayne Allen and Dylan Dixon.

Paudie Leacy bagged four goals for Caim United as they won 5-2 in Ferns, with Darren Blackburn getting their other goal.

Crossabeg travelled to Camolin and came away with a 3-2 victory, with Vinnie Sullivan, Michael Codd and James Carley getting their goals. Division 4A

There were goals galore in Division 4A on Sunday, with the six matches yielding an incredible 49 goals.

Campile United and Wexford Albion shared the spoils after a ten-goal thriller, with Philly Whitty (two), Christopher Quinn, Daryl Thomas and Paddy Cardiff scoring for United.

Enniscorthy United overcame Tombrack 5-3 with goals from Dylan Groarke (two), Joe Miller, Seán Murphy and David Franklin, with Eoghan Murphy (two) and Steven Ryan replying.

Wexford Celtic had their shooting boots on, with Dylan Redmond netting a hat-trick and Dillon Kehoe, Cameron Farrell, Ger Doyle and Brian Browne adding a goal apiece in their 7-3 win over Ballymurn, and Billy Roche (two) and Luke Lacey replying.

Gorey Celtic chalked up a 6-1 win away to St. Joseph’s with goals from Gracjan Dettlaff (two), Jake Cassidy, Dillon Connolly, Greg O’Rourke and Martin Wadding, with Michael Kavanagh replying for the Kilmuckridge men.

Elsewhere Glynn-Barntown were much too good for Boolavogue, winning 9-1, while Cloughbawn overcame Taghmon 4-0.

Division 5

Enniscorthy Town were the big winners in Division 5 on Sunday as they overwhelmed Camolin Celtic 8-0.

Ben Kirwan netted a hat-trick for the winners, Mark Berney and Danny O’Brien added doubles, with Seánie O’Gorman grabbing their other goal.

St. Cormac’s won 6-2 in Ferns, thanks to a Jamie Dempsey Doyle hat-trick and goals from Dean Fortune, James Sweeney and Paul Fitzgerald.

Eoin Ryan, Eoin Codd and Eamonn Whitty got the goals for St. Leonards in their 3-1 win over Killenagh, while Peter Aspel hit the back of the net for Cushinstown as they drew 1-1 with Rosslare Port.

Elsewhere, Kiltealy beat Bree United 6-0 and Adamstown won 2-1 away to Stoney Rovers.
