Panto auditions are on the way soon

-

IT’S almost that time of year again. Oh no it isn’t.

In fact the first script read through for Wexford Pantomime Society’s 50th anniversary production of Cinderella is due to take place later this month.

The read though for those aged over 16 will take place at the Dun Mhuire at 8 p.m. on Friday, September 22, with the children’s choir and chorus auditions due to take place from 12 noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, September 24. Children must be 10 years or older on January 1, 2018, to be eligible to audition.

Cast auditions for the 16-plus age group will take place at the Dun Mhuire from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, October 1.

As with every Wexford pantoime, this will be a wacky and wild version of Cinderella:

Ella lives with her evil stepmother and two ugly sisters. Her father has passed away and her stepmother has very little time for her, caring only for her other two daughters. Ella has been reduced to a servant in the house and indeed spends all her time in the kitchen – cooking, washing and cleaning out the fire and thus she has been renamed Cinderella. Her best friend Buttons still knows her as Ella though. In the village square, our heroine Ella bumps into Prince Will. They are both disguised and on the run. And so it goes on, with more twists and turns than a drive around Wexford town. If you fancy playing a part in the panto, head along to the auditions.. you’ll be so please you did, oh yes, you will!
