Just a reminder to all members that activities resume in the guild with the first meeting of the year, on Monday, September 4, at 8 p.m. During the summer months we have had a number of activities. The landscaping project at the church is progressing well and is in full bloom in recent weeks. In June we had a very enjoyable evening in Gerard Roche’s garden in Woodville followed by tea and lovely food in Ni Riain’s in the Irishtown.
Our outing to Kilkenny on July 27 was a great success. We visited St Canice’s Cathedral, the Smithwick experience as well as a trip on the train around the city. To finish off the day we had our evening meal in Hotel Kilkenny.
Just as we were going to print came the sad news of the death of long-standing member, Teresa O’Keeffe. Our sympathies to her family. May she rest in peace.
