The autumn series of lectures from New Ross Historical Society begins on Tuesday, September 26, in New Ross Boat Club at 8 p.m. with a lecture entitled ‘Newfoundland – A shared History – A shared future’. This lecture will be delivered by Dr. Maxine Keoghan, a Craig Dobbin Fellow, who will discuss her current research, which highlights how 21.6 per cent of Newfoundlanders claim Irish ancestry according to the 2006 census. The vast majority of these were migrants in 18th century from the south east counties of Ireland.

Members go free, while the cost for non members is €5. All are welcome to attend.
