IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

It is now just a week since Duncormick was rocked by the sudden and tragic death of Ger Murphy of Commons Farm. At just forty two years of age, Ger had accomplished much. Commons Farm shines as testimony to his vision, his energy, his attention to detail and his multitude of skills. Ger built Commons Farm as a state of the art farm, but also as a lovely home place for his family: Clara, Cathal, Faye and Austin.

It was out of this that Duncormick Harvest Festival was conceived. A happy celebration of Duncormick life, its past, its people, its produce and its potential, it proved to be an unforgettable and wonderful success in 2016. But now as the days pass, it has become increasingly clear that the spirit of celebration will be impossible to muster this year.

Ger’s Months Mind will be on Sunday 1st Oct, the proposed date for the festival. It has therefore been decided to defer the festival this year. We apologise to anyone who is affected, and we trust that all will understand and accept.

Our heartfelt sympathies to the Murphy family and relations and many friends. Rest in Peace Ger Murphy.
