THE deadline for the 2017 New Ross & District, Business and Community awards is fast approaching and the search for Person of the Year is well and truly on.

The organisers are calling on the public to honour those individuals who have made a real difference and valuable contribution to society, through their community involvement, charitable work, academic or sporting contributions, business success or acts of bravery by nominating them for the Person of the Year award.

Speaking on behalf of the Chamber, President John Mc Sweeney said: ‘As a community, we should recognise and call out people who have made a real difference to the lives of others through their volunteerism, dedication and willingness to give of their own time for the betterment of others. New Ross has many such people, so we are asking that people take the time to look and nominate those whom they believe deserve the accolade.’

Nominations from all voluntary, education and business sectors are welcome and the winner will be chosen from the public’s nominations by an independent judging panel led by Ennis & Co Business Consultants.
