Finding the perfect fit on new app

-

A NEW North Wexford-based tech company has launched a spartphone app to allow women to buy and sell their ‘pre-loved’ and new dresses, and to help them find the ‘perfect fit’.

Dressup Market was founded by 31-year-old Gorey businesswoman Lana Gregan (formerly Dunbar), and Amy Pugh (32) from Swords, with support from Wexford Local Enterprise office.

Lana runs the Eikon Nail and Beauty House on Main Street, Gorey, and is also involved in ‘ The Fitness Tailor’ on Eire Street, Gorey, with her husband Emmet Gregan.

She described Dressup Market as ‘a niche community and marketplace for buying and selling women’s new and pre-loved clothing’. ‘We are only live a few weeks and already have a growing community with over €10,000 worth of dresses alone listed on the site, and with that sales on the rise,’ she said.

She explained that the app helps users match their body dimensions to the items on sale, using an innovative sizing algorithm. ‘Considering we have just launched, we have a substantial number of users, to which is growing daily,’ she said. ‘We are happy with the progress to date and look forward to working hard to grow the community further.’

The company was developed with the help of Tom Banville, head of enterprise at the Local Enterprise Office, ‘I received funding to assist with the start up,’ said Lana. ‘I was also very grateful to have the opportunity to sit down with a number of great Wexford businessmen in the tech industry and gain some useful advice, from Jim Hughes of Innovate, to Rory O’Connor of Scurri, Ed Hendrick of Sonru and Fred Karlsson, founder of Done Deal. I also worked closely with Aidan Shine of South East BIC, another fantastic support, based in Waterford.’
