Taghmon’s Got Talent back for 10th year
TAGHMON’S GOT TALENT returns, starting this weekend, ten years since its launch.
The competitions takes place from 10 p.m. each night at the venues and the first talent night takes place at Fat Boys pub in Taghmon on Saturday, followed by Conran’s pub, Rathnure on Friday, October 6, the Millenium Bar, Davidstown, the following Friday, Micko’s Bar, Taghmon, on Friday, October 20, Morrissey’s pub in Cassagh on Saturday, October 21, Mernagh’s, Oylegate, on Friday, October 27, Mary B’s, in Killurin, on Saturday, October 28, the Horse & Hound, Ballinaboola, on Friday, November 10, Alice Foley’s in Newbawn on Saturday, November 11, Alice Brady’s pub on Friday, November 17 and at Rochford’s in Camross on Saturday, November 18.
The launch took place at Rochford’s recently, performed by South East Radio’s Michael Doyle, who is a native of the parish.
The talent competition is in its tenth year and has brought some fantastic entertainment to the area over these years.

All money raised will go to Wexford Hospice Homecare, whose chairperson Eamonn Mernagh spoke at the launch, as did Eithne Fitzpatrick. Mr Mernagh acknowledged the support of the community and said €500,000 needs to be raised every year to pay for hospice nurses, who did invaluable work with elderly people. Mr Mernagh thanked all of the volunteers who make Wexford Hospice a reality in the lives of so many Wexford people.
Taghmon’s Got Talent chairman Pat O’Callaghan said the top performers will compete for the Joe Monaghan trophy, in memory of the late, great Taghmon man.
The final will be held on Friday, November 24, at the Horse & Hound Hotel in Ballinaboola.
