ULLARD CAR PARK

Local councillor Peter ‘ Chap’ Cleere has welcomed the works which have been recently completed, the upgrading of the car park at Ullard adjacent to St Fiachra’s sixth century church ruins, blessed well, and graveyard.

The car park area has been significan­tly upgraded after Chap secured 20k worth of fuding under the CLAR programme recently. Chap thanked Kilkenny County Council, who did an excellent job.

This week’s lotto jackpot stands at €20,000, and the reserve jackpot at €20,000.

The numbers drawn were 4, 12, 14 and 15, and there was no winner. Consolatio­n winners of €60 each were Liam Carroll; Ciaran Sheehy; Anne Kelly, Brandon Crescent; Adam and Harry c/o Maura Cushen; Paddy Connelly.

HISTORICAL SOCIETY AGM

The Graiguenam­anagh Historical Society’s AGM will take place in the Duiske Inn on Friday, September 29, at 8 p.m.

BRANDON HILL CLIMB

The fourth annual Climb Brandon Hill walk for the Jack and Jill foundation will take place on October 1. Regerstrat­ion from 2 p.m. at Freaneys Well. Climb starts 2.30 p.m.
