ATHLETIC CLUB NOTES

We have completed another successful open cross country again this year. A massive thank you to everyone that helped out in any way. Thank you to the Stafford for the use of their field, it was very much appreciated. The results have been posted, along with all the photos taken on the day.

It takes a great deal of work and effort to run this event, which all our committee members and parents offer their time and support. This only stands to strengthen the club. We had less athletes competing this year, however our older athletes that have hung up their cross country spikes, were on hand to help out in many different way, again thank you.

A large variety of clubs attended which was great to see and have their support, clubs as far a Cork came to run. We hope that everyone that competed enjoyed the course, and very well done to DMP on winning the shield which was sponsored by Tony Butler meats. Thank you for your continued support.

Two Taghmon girls competed at St Sennan’s open cross country event recently Izzy Asple fourth Kayleigh Butler sixth in the under-eights. Very well done girls.

And just to remind everyone training is back to indoors now every Wednesday evening: 6 p.m. to 6.55 p.m. for young group; 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. for older group age 10 and up. Don’t forget your water.
