Lake Region charity Fun Run on this Sunday
The countdown is on for the second year of the annual Lake Region Medical charity fun run and walk on the splendid grounds of JFK Arboretum.
This event takes place this Sunday, with lots of fun planned for all the family. This year the chosen charities are ‘Touching Hearts’, Waterford and ‘Our Lady of Fatima School’, Wexford, with all proceeds raised going directly to these children’s schools. Both charities offer much needed services for children with special needs such as physical, developmental and learning difficulties in the south east. Proceedings on the day will kick off at 12:30 p.m. with kiddies dashes for children from all ages up to 12 years old. Each child will receive a medal, wrist band and goodie bag for taking part. Kids will be well entertained with music, Disney characters, face painting, bouncy castles, a treasure hunt and much more. The four mile timed run (two laps of the JFK park) will take place at 1:30 p.m. followed closely by the 2 mile walk (one lap of the park). Light refreshments will be served just after the main events followed by the presentation of prizes to race winners.
There will also be a raffle consisting of sponsorship prizes donated from local businesses whom have generously supported this event. All participants must register prior to the event or on the day from 11:30 a.m.
