A Children’s Book Fesial is taking place at New Ross Library and on this Wednesday at noon Caroline Busher will oversee a ‘Vulgar Victorians and Ghastly Georgians’ workshop. Children can travel back in time to the Vulgar Victorian Era and learn about the Ghastly Georgians with Caroline who is a children’s author. Children will explore the strange and wonderful superstiti­ons and beliefs of the Victorian era. Caroline will also read a chapter of her latest novel ‘The Girl Who Ate the Stars’. The workshop is suitable for 10 to 12 year olds. School bookings only on 051 421877.

On Friday at 10 a.m. author Jackie Burke of the popular ‘Grindlewoo­d’ series will talk about how to come up with ideas for stories, how to structure them, what to do if you get stuck and also explore how to improve your writing and the importance of keeping notes. Jackie will be reading short pieces from her books and conclude with a lively Q& A session. This is suitable for 8-12 year olds. School bookings only on 051 421877.

On Saturday, October 14, at 11 a.m. Dr Patricia will be on duty at New Ross Library to diagnose your reading habits and prescribe good reads for you. For more informatio­n phone 051 421877. All are welcome.
