KELLY’S Resort Hotel has been named as Gold Supreme Winner in the Hotel and Catering Review magazine’s 2017 awards, in which Wexford hostelries proved to be the cream of the crop.
It was the highest accolade presented at the awards night at the Lyrath Estate in Kilkenny, at which a delighted Bill and Isabelle Kelly were on hand to receive their tropies.
Kelly’s was also named ‘Ireland’s Family Friendly Hotel’.
The Rosslare Strand-based hotel was one of four Wexford hotels and restaurants receiving awards on the night.
The others were:
Ireland’s Country House & Guest House - Marlfield House, Gorey: Ireland’s Four Star Hotel Spa Experience - Oceo Spa, Seafield Hotel, Gorey, and Ireland’s Newcomer Restaurant - Wild and Native Seafood Restaurant, Rosslare.
Bill and Isabelle said they were delighted to receive the awards on behalf of the team at Kelly’s.
‘ The management and staff work tirelessly to keep Kelly’s on top, maintaining the hotel’s consistent high standards year in, year out,’ said Bill.
He said that without Kelly’s dedicated team this award would not be possible.
More than 450 people from the hospitality industry were in attendance on the glittering awards night.
The Gold Medal Awards are intensely competitive, drawing entries from hundreds of hotels, restaurants, guesthouses, spas and catering businesses every year.
Each entrant is thoroughly evaluated by members of the Gold Medal Awards judging panel who travel the length and breadth of the country over the course of the summer months to search for Ireland’s greatest purveyors of hospitality.
