Food Tourism project gets €47k

A total of €46,883 in funding has been allocated for the developmen­t of Food Tourism across County Wexford. Following on from the success of the Enniscorth­y Food Tourism initiative which included the developmen­t of the Rockin’ Food Festival, O’Connell Marketing Ltd and Wexford County Council submitted a comprehens­ive plan to expand the agri food tourism offering across the county through a programme of events, training, promotions and marketing.

Municipal District, along with Siobhan O’Neill from Visit Wexford and chef and food consultant Anthony O’Toole.

The project will get underway with a number of informatio­n workshops across the county on October 19 and 24 for food producers and anyone involved in the food tourism industry. Sessions will take place at a venue to be decided in Wexford from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on October 19 and in Nutshell Café in New Ross from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on the same day. On October 24, they will take place in Enniscorth­y from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at The Wilds Café and 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in The Book Café in Gorey.
