Pupils and parents enjoy Ramsgrange open night
MORE than 300 pupils from 16 schools and their parents attended an open night at Ramsgrange Community School recently.
The 5th and 6th Class pupils and their parents were entertained by the school’s students enjoying numerous activities, lots of different sports and even witnessing the ‘dissection’ of body parts in the Science Lab. Students designed coasters in the Technical Graphics room which were made by the woodwork students and there were displays from all the subjects.
Pupils were taken on tours of the school by students and 6th class students, head boy Sam Elliott and head girl Tanya O’Brien gave a wonderful speech reflecting on their time at the school. Acting Principal Tracey Edwards and Deputy Principal Mary Cullinane spoke to parents and outlined all of the many curricular and extra curricular activities provided at the school, which has 440 students on its roll book.
Ms Edwards said: ‘ There

was a wonderful atmosphere in the school which was a hive of activity all evening.’
Refreshments were served by the canteen committee.
