The official opening will take place on Saturday, October 21, at 3pm.

Dutch artist Marja is a fulltime painter and printmaker whose work explores childhood themes combined with elements of landscape. There is a use of vibrant colours and patterns in her paintings, suggested by other cultures. She enlarges elements, distort proportions and discards perspective, and introduces a playful imagery to give her work a light-hearted quality.

Marja’s work is in many public collections including the Arts Council of Ireland, Office of Public Works and Áras an Uachtaráin. She is a recipient of many Arts Council awards.

Wexford’s Martina Furlong paints colourful, textured landscapes and abstract scenes in oils and acrylics. She is inspired by things she encounters every day from the countryside to books, songs, people and buildings.

Martina mixes reality with memories and imagination and paints her own interpretation of them by building up layer upon layer of paint and using various tools as well as brushes and pallet knives to work back into the surface.

Her work is in private collections worldwide. In recent years she has exhibited in the US, Italy, England and throughout Ireland.
