Daly has announced that his 21st annual watercolour exhibition will officially open at the Pumphouse in Wexford Wildfowl Reserve on Saturday, October 21, at 4pm and will run until bank holiday Monday, October 30.

Daly’s exhibition is entitled A Brush With Nature: An Artist’s Journey Through The Seasons, and the official opening will be performed by Mairead Stafford, artist and potter from Ballyelland Pottery in Castlebridge.

‘I’ve selected over 40 of my works mostly painted in various locations in the Wexford area and some overseas,’ he said. ‘ The selection includes one of my favourits, painted while visiting Coto Donona in Southern Spain, one of the most attractive protected wetlands in the world.’

Daly will include a sequence of paintings inspired by birds and animals over the past 12 months and with a seasonal emphasis that refledcs the beauty of nature as it changes before our eyes. Each of these works will be accompanied by a description of the environmental setting that inspired it.

The artist will be available at the Pumphouse to talk to visitors about his experiences of painting in the field.

A member of the Watercolour Society of Ireland, Daly has illustrated several books including the Complete Garden Bird Book and Bill Oddie’s Birds of Britain and Wild Dublin. He has also been invited to paint in several locations outside Ireland, including Israel and Spain.

The exhibition will be open daily from 10am to 5pm, including the launch day.
