ACTIVE RETIREMENT

Ten Pin Bowling – There will be a Ten Pin Bowling Tournament in Leisure Max, Wexford, on October 18 – €7 per player. Lunch will cost €7 (optional) and to be booked on the day. Tea or coffee will be served. A cup will be presented to the winning team that they will keep for a year and will be given out on the day. CINEMA, WEXFORD

Trip to Omniplex Cinema, Wexford, October 24 – Film: ‘The Mountain Between Us’ starring Idris Elba, Kate Winslet, Beau Bridges and Dermot Mulroney. Stranded on a mountain after a tragic plane crash, two strangers must work together to endure the extreme elements of the remote, snow-covered terrain. Realising that help is not on the way, they embark on a perilous journey across hundreds of miles of wilderness, pushing each other to survive and discoverin­g their inner strength.

IRISH CLASSES

Irish classes, designed around the primary school curriculum, with a view to helping you help your kids with their Irish homework and a fantastic opportunit­y to brush-up on your own Irish, will be held in Ramsgrange Family Resource Centre for 10 weeks, from 7 p.m. till 9 p.m., starting on Wednesday, October 4. COLLECTION THANKS

The New Ross I. P. T. (The Irish Pilgrimage Trust) thanks sincerely all who contribute­d most generously to their annual church gate collection on the weekend of August 26 and 27 2017. The amount collected was €201.40. Your generous support is essential in helping us to bring young people, with special needs, to Lourdes.

TABLE QUIZ

There will be a Fundraisin­g table quiz in Sláinte Bar, Ramsgrange, at 9 p.m. on Saturday, November 4, in aid of St Louis Day Care Centre Mini-Bus fundraiser. Tables of four – Cost per person €10, prize of €100 for winning table. There will be Raffle Prizes on the night.

COMMUNITY EMPLOYMENT

We at South West Wexford FRC are supporting people to re-enter the workforce, gain practical work experience locally and work towards recognized qualificat­ions through the opportunit­y of free Training at QQI Level three up to Level six and onwards.

We are presently recruiting for the following: Front Desk Receptioni­st/Administra­tors and Community Café Assistant under the above programme.

The criteria for participat­ing on the CE Scheme programme are over 21 years old and in receipt of a Social Welfare payment for 12 months or more.

BLUEBELL CAFÉ

The Bluebell Café is open at St Louis Day Care Centre, Ramsgrange on the first Wednesday of every month, to older people, their families and carers who are coping with memory loss issues. We welcome you to come in, enjoy a cup of tea, chat and meet with others in similar situations. We offer you an opportunit­y to obtain informatio­n and to speak with health care profession­als in your area.

TABLE QUIZ

St Louis Day Care Centre are holding a table quiz on Saturday, November 4, at 9 p.m. in Sláinte Bar, Ramsgrange Cost per person €10 for table of four. Prize of €100 for winning table plus raffle prizes on the night. All proceeds go towards the ongoing mini bus fundraiser.

CAMPILE HALL

There is a weekly game of bingo being held in Campile Hall every Monday night at 8.30 p.m. in aid of the ongoing developmen­t of the hall, with prize money of €1,250 approximat­ely being paid out each night with a rolling in house lotto and Snowball also being played each night. We welcome each and every one senior citizens, young and children alike to try it and enjoy a great night out and win some money into the bargain.

MEDITATION CLASSES

Weekly Meditation classes with Reiki Therapist, Ann Considine of Tranquil Healing are ongoing at South West Wexford Family Resource Centre. There will be a choice of morning or evening classes. Tuesday evenings from 7.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. And Wednesday mornings from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. The cost of each class will be €10. To book a place contact Ann at 085 7555844 or 051 389703. STUDY GROUP

Campile Hall Parents Supervised study group is going well so far but we still have some places available if anyone else is interested in joining, this study group is the perfect opportunit­y to get homework or study done without any of the usual home distractio­ns three evenings a week here in Campile Hall.

It is open to anyone in third, fifth or sixth years that might be interested in joining, study is on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at a cost of €20 per month to book in or to make inquiries contact Nicholas at 087 9418661 or Campile hall at 087 2183300.

IRISH FOR PARENTS

Introducti­on to Irish for parents of primary school children. These classes are for beginners and are designed around the primary school curriculum with view to helping your child with Irish homework. These classes have started on Wednesdays and the venue is South West Wexford FRC. These classes are delivered by a fully qualified tutor in a relaxed and learner friendly environmen­t.
