Guilty of cannabis possession Art exhibition at St Michael’s Theatre

A New Ross man on two drug-related charges has had sentence adjourned to allow for the preparatio­n of a Probation and Welfare report.

Patrick Murphy, of 43 JKL Place, New Ross, came before Judge Martina Baxter at Wexford Circuit Criminal Court.

The 31-year-old defendant pleaded guilty to the possession of cannabis at 43 JKL Place, New Ross, on November 18, 2016. He also pleaded guilty to the possession of cannabis for sale or supply.

Defence Counsel John O’Kelly applied for the adjournmen­t to sentencing to allow for the preparatio­n of a Probation and Welfare report.

Prosecutin­g Counsel Ms Sinead Gleeson said there was no objection to the applicatio­n. She also said there was no objection to bail.

Judge Baxter adjourned the matter back for sentencing to January 30 next. ARTIST Marie O’Connor from Campile is exhibiting her paintings in St Michael’s Theatre, New Ross, from this Friday, November 3 until the end of the month.

The opening hours for viewing are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Monday to Saturday and during all performanc­es.
