Physics workshop

A Physics Workshop on the subject matter: ‘What can you find with a Particle Detector?’ takes place at New Ross Library at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, November 14. A Particle Detector allows people to see the kinds of things normally restricted to large research facilities. Brendan Wallace will show particles from space and from household devices like smoke detectors which have their own radioactive source. The device is about the size of a small aquarium and quite safe. It doesn’t create particles, merely reveals what is already there, but invisible.
